As you can see from any picture of Maltipoo puppy or dogs here, no 1 is alike, just like snowflakes! There is such a wide range of colors and with the adult weight range being between 5 and 12 pounds (2.27 to 5.44 kg), each has its own distinct look.
While many are pushing for the Maltipoo to be recognized as a purebred and allowed into the AKC, work is being done throughout breeding programs to have a more clarified standard without so much variation. Although it must be said, that when you have a 1st generation Maltipoo, there are many features and traits that are
typical.
Medium to long drop ears, a round dark nose, black or brown eyes, short to medium snout, short legs and a soft, wavy coat is seen in the majority. It should be noted that one may have straight hair or curly hairs, but most Maltipoo dogs have a 50/50 coat that ends up having a nice wave to it.

This designer breed is known as a lap dog....And this means a very friendly, loyal and affectionate pet. They love to be around their owner, whether it is to lay down close and watch TV or to go for a walk around the neighborhood.
Since they are small, clothing may be needed when going outside if an owner lives in a cold climate with snow and ice. In hot weather, one should shorten walks so that the pup does not get overheated.
The size also calls out for a harness and leash. Unlike a collar, a harness distributes stress across the whole upper body, chest, back and shoulders...And this can prevent a common condition that happens to many toy and small breed dogs known as collapsed trachea.
Some people think that small dogs automatically bark a lot, but this is not generally true. Barking can be controlled with proper training....And there are many different reasons why a pup will make noise.
If you came here to look at a picture of Maltipoo dogs because you are thinking of owning one, or if you already have an mPoo, do please take some time to look around this site....We are dedicated to the health and happiness of this hybrid and work hard to offer excellent information on care, health, eating, grooming and much more.
